The app focuses on dependable breed lookup, readable profiles, and helpful
offline tools instead of community features, feeds, or subscriptions.
Household Planner — new in 1.5
Save your My Household answers and Any Dog builds a readiness card
with a score, top matches, exercise target, grooming cadence, training
prep, and watch items. The planner reuses the app's breed traits and
care builders, so the guidance is consistent with Breed Finder and
each breed profile.
My Household
Answer seven lifestyle questions about your home once, and Any Dog
scores every breed for your situation. A live "fit" badge appears beside
every breed in Browse, at the top of each breed page (tap it for a
per-trait "Why this score" breakdown), and as a "Your fit" row in Compare,
with a new "Best fit for me" sort and filter in Browse. Edit your profile
any time; it lives entirely on device and reuses the Breed Finder's scoring,
so there is no new data, backend, or account.
Full breed profiles
Each breed page includes a written overview plus size, height, weight,
lifespan, coat type, and 1-5 ratings for energy, shedding, and
trainability, alongside the FCI group, section, origin, and recognition
status.
Care Guide — new in 1.2
Every breed now includes a practical Care Guide with three sections:
a grooming schedule (brushing frequency, bathing interval, and a
professional-groom note where applicable), a daily exercise target
with a mental stimulation note, and a Health Watch listing the
well-documented concerns for that breed's FCI group — all offline,
all on device.
Filter, sort, and favorite
Narrow the catalog by group, section, country, size, and coat type,
sort the way you like, and tap the heart to save any breed to your
favorites. Tap the share icon to export your shortlist as plain text
via AirDrop, Messages, Notes, or any share destination.
Breed Finder quiz
Answer a few lifestyle questions about space, activity, shedding, and
household, and Any Dog ranks the breeds that best fit, all on device.
Metric and Imperial units — new in 1.4
A persistent Metric / Imperial toggle on every breed profile switches
all height and weight displays between cm / kg and inches / pounds.
The preference applies in Compare and the favorites export too.
Change it any time from the profile page or the About sheet.
Side-by-side compare
Put up to three breeds next to each other across size, weight,
lifespan, energy, shedding, trainability, and more. A share button
exports the full table as plain text in your active unit system.
